ABOUT ME
Relationships are the most important part of the healing process. Rooted in attachment theory, I have over 10 years of experience working with children and youth with severe behaviors, attachment injuries, anxiety, and trauma. I have worked in a wide range of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, private and public schools, early childhood education, clinical therapist within a community mental health agency and clinical therapist at a groups practice. I passionately utilize play therapy and attachment interventions to address behavioral challenges and trauma.
Along with therapy services, I provide families insight and education on neuroscience in an approachable way that helps them understand their child's behaviors, while also building skills to address the difficult behaviors. I actively work with the caregivers to help apply that knowledge in an intentional and effective way. Parents often call me thoughtful, validating, and empowering. Using an attachment approach, I lead children and their families to a greater place of understanding and connection.
Additionally, I have extensive training in play therapy including Level 1 Theraplay, Beyond Behaviors, Child Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, First Play, AutPlay, Synergetic Play Therapy, Trauma Informed Yoga for Children and Conscious Discipline.

MY THERAPY METHOD
-
SELF-EXPRESSION
Utilizing play therapy, I will support children in expressing their feelings and thoughts. Play allows children to explore scary or overwhelming topics and make sense of their world. They will grow in their confidence, frustration tolerance and sense of control. I use playful skills to develop and increase their communication so they can effectively and productively express their feelings and needs.
-
SKILL BUILDING
Overwhelmed and anxious children tend to lash out at themselves or others, this doesn’t feel good for the child or for you! Children will learn healthy ways to manage big feelings and ways to ask for help when they are needing support. They will develop a set of skills and inner skills to ask for the support they need.
-
PARENT COACHING
Parenting is hard. I can help! I utilize my years of experience supporting families and loads of research to tailor parenting support to what you are needing. I will walk you through skills and tools to coach you to manage the big behaviors you’re experiencing at home. You’ll feel more connected, confident and controlled in your parenting.
